My name is Dean Vanier, president of NorthWoods Common Scents. (NWCS)
I was born and raised in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and began hunting fishing and trapping at a very early age. I have been chasing the Whitetail deer since I was 13 years old. Being a trapper taught me allot about animals and how they tend to follow their nose. It only made since to me, that if I could beat a foxes nose, then I certainly could beat a Whitetails nose. So even back then I knew beating a Whitetail's nose was the key to success. I began making my own cover scents and started using deer urines in the early 80s. Soon I was seeing and shooting more bucks consistently. NorthWoods Common Scents came to life in early 1990's. Our urines are collected here in the Northeast and my cover scents: pine, earth, cedar and acorn are all common scents of the north woods . Thus NorthWoods Common Scents was born.
NorthWoods is poured and labeled by hand in the late summer and early fall ensuring the highest quality and freshness.
That is when Shelli { my better half } and I hit the road distributing our product through out New England .
